The Contemporary youth

I chose to focus on the connection between young people aged and their pets, highlighting how important animals have become in humans' lives, with the hopes of capturing the essence of contemporary youth. I've wanted to show the emotional bond and sense of comfort and support that a pet may provide, no matter the type of breed.

 

 

To achieve this, I chose a diverse group of young people and their pets, including dogs, cats and rabbits. I aimed to represent the broad range of pet choices that reflect the contemporary youth culture. I used natural light as well as soft continuous lighting and a simple backdrop to capture the intimate interaction between the subjects and their furry companions.

 

I also made a gif that would demonstrate a brief transition or morph between an individual and his pet, capturing their unique bond in motion. The addition of this element would bring the portraits to life, demonstrating the dynamic and lively nature of the relationships of today's youth with their animals. 

 

I didn’t want the images to look staged as the whole point of this body of work is to capture those special moments. However, the final images turned out much different (and better) than I had in mind.
